Fans who engage in racist behavior in stadiums often fail to realize that many of the players and idols they cheer for are Black. And without Black players, many clubs would never have won their greatest titles, including the Brazilian National Team.
To raise awareness, for the first time ever, Brazil took the field without the stars on its jersey.
